Brewer Equipment Co. is seeking a full-time Construction and Scaffold Laborer with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record at its office in Greensboro, NC. The Laborer will perform a supportive role with the use of equipment and manual labor in the yard and on project sites both in the Triad region (Greensboro, High Point, Winston-Salem) and, occasionally, throughout other parts of North Carolina and Virginia.
The role includes tasks such as: packaging, loading, and unloading material and equipment, operate hand or power tools, support the erecting and dismantling of scaffold, and drive equipment and crews to/from project sites. You must have physical strength, endurance and work well with your hands. Adhering to safety rules, following instructions, and collaborating with others is important.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Must be willing to learn the erecting and dismantling of scaffold Safely drive and operate company trucks, including pickup trucks and 16’ flatbed trucks Must be able to work 8-12 hours standing, moving material, and climbing ladders/scaffold Must be able to lift 75 lbs. over your head repeatedly Frequently carry 50 lbs. Operate hand or power tools Operate a forklift Must be able to work some weekends and some nights Comply with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation, valid Driver’s License, and clean driving record High School diploma or GED Scaffold experience not required Ability to follow directions Ability to communicate well with team members Must submit to pre-employment drug testing and background check Must be authorized to work in the United States Preferred to have experience in the construction trades with at least the basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
